About Us:
Sheridan Lacrosse Club is the driving force behind lacrosse in Northern Wyoming, offering affordable, accessible, and competitive programs for youth and high school athletes. Founded in 2022 and building on youth programs that began in 2018, we’ve grown rapidly through a model that removes barriers and welcomes players at every level.
Title: Board Member/Director
Board Member Position Summary:
This is a volunteer position that plays a vital role in guiding the overall direction and sustainability of the Sheridan Lacrosse Club. Board Members collaborate with fellow directors to support club governance, strategic planning, committee work, and community initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Governance & Organizational Support:

Attend and actively participate in regular board meetings (typically monthly or as scheduled), contributing to strategic discussions, decision-making, and club governance.

Serve on or chair at least one committee (e.g., Fundraising, Facilities, Communications, Program Development, or others as needed), helping to advance committee goals through planning, follow-through, and collaboration.

Uphold and promote the club's mission: providing affordable, accessible, and welcoming lacrosse opportunities for youth across Northern Wyoming, fostering player growth, community partnerships, and regional excellence.
Committee & Program Contribution:

Assist in implementing board-approved initiatives, such as program development, fundraising efforts, facility improvements, or community outreach.

Provide input and support on club activities, events, and long-term planning to ensure alignment with our 10 core values (Accountability, Coachability, Commitment, Dedication, Gratitude, Hard Work, Humility, Resilience, Respect, Responsibility).

Help maintain a positive, inclusive club culture that prioritizes youth development, volunteerism, and community impact.
Administrative & Compliance:

Adhere to all club bylaws, policies, and nonprofit regulations as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Maintain open communication with fellow board members, volunteers, families, and partners as required for your role or committee.

Commit to ethical conduct, confidentiality where appropriate, and acting in the best interest of the club and its members.
Qualifications:

Passion for lacrosse and youth sports: A genuine dedication to growing the game in Sheridan and supporting young athletes' development.

Relevant experience: Previous involvement in nonprofit boards, committees, youth sports organizations, volunteer leadership, event planning, fundraising, communications, finance, facilities management, or related areas is desirable but not required—enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment, offer constructive ideas, and support team efforts.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with board members, parents, coaches, players, and community partners.

Time Commitment: Availability to attend board meetings (evening or as scheduled) and contribute meaningfully to committee work throughout the year (expect 5–15 hours/month depending on role and committee involvement; more during peak seasons).
