About Us:
Sheridan Lacrosse Club is the driving force behind lacrosse in Northern Wyoming, offering affordable, accessible, and competitive programs for youth and high school athletes. Founded in 2022 and building on youth programs that began in 2018, we’ve grown rapidly through a model that removes barriers and welcomes players at every level.
Volunteer: Board Member & Committee ChairPosition
Summary:
This is an unpaid, leadership volunteer role for a strategic thinker committed to sustaining and expanding Sheridan Lacrosse Club as Northern Wyoming’s premier lacrosse hub. The Board Member & Committee Chair serves on the Board of Directors, provides governance oversight, and leads one standing committee (e.g., Fundraising, Facility, or Events). Reporting directly to the Board President, this position shapes policy, secures resources, and ensures long-term program excellence.Responsibilities

Board Governance: Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual/in-person), vote on budgets, policies, and strategic plans.

Committee Leadership: Chair an assigned committee; recruit members, set goals, and deliver measurable results (e.g., $15K raised, new clinic launched).

Strategic Input: Contribute expertise in areas such as finance, marketing, youth sports, or community relations.

Fundraising & Advocacy: Cultivate sponsors, write grants, and represent the club at community events.

Risk & Compliance: Help maintain safe, inclusive programs and adherence to USA Lacrosse and league standards.
Qualifications:

Proven leadership experience in business, non-profit, coaching, or community organizations.

Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Passion for lacrosse and commitment to barrier-free access for all players.

Ability to commit 5–8 hours per month, including one evening board meeting quarterly.

Prior board or committee experience helpful but not required—training provided.
Time Commitment:
Year-round with heavier involvement during budget season (Fall) and Spring planning (January–February). Most meetings are 60–90 minutes; committee work is flexible.
